Hello, I am Sue. I am a compassionate therapist trained and fully qualified in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) from centre of therapy in Glasgow and registered member of the BACP (British Association for counselling and psychotherapy).
I am based in a friendly and well-established therapy centre in heart of Glasgow, Elmbank Therapy Centre.
I believe, Life has its own difficulties and sometimes navigating these problems and finding ways of coping on your own can be quite challenging.
I am committed to work on alleviating emotional, psychological pain and suffering of individuals. Through a non-judgmental, supportive, compassionate therapeutic relationship, I am a good listener and by using integrative therapy as well as CBT model, work with clients to narrow down challenging problems into tangible steps of change and empowerment. I utilize the most current evidence-based CBT therapeutic interventions to equip clients with active coping skills, increased problem-solving and discovering new pathways to work towards a life of wellness and well-being.
I am open, respectful and curious about differences, (racial, ethnic, social classes, gender identities and religious and cultural backgrounds); while simultaneously look for similarities in building the therapeutic alliance. I will work with each client to clarify and develop their own goals and guide clients’ tap into their own strengths to create change in their lives.
I work with adults in different age groups. My practice includes clients who are dealing with anxiety, depression, addictive disorders, relationship and communication problems, trauma, phobias, low self esteem, low mood and life transitions.
I also have learnt and practiced Transcendental Meditation (TM) in Maharishi Foundation and am able to help my clients to reduce their stress by teaching them relaxation techniques and breathing exercises and mindfulness.
PRICES: INTEGRATIVE THERAPY /CBT SESSION £30
This is recommended to have in sets of six sessions, twelve, eighteen, or open-ended.
Evening and weekend sessions are available.

My background in helping people is quite varied. I have been working in the health and care sector for over 10 years now, both with adults and children and young people. I graduated with a BSc with Honours Degree in Psychology in 2012, with my specialist subject being Child Development. Most recently, I graduated with the Diploma in CBT Counselling and Group-Work in June 2017. I am a COSCA registered Therapist and I am working towards my accreditation.
I have over 8 years experience working with people suffering with trauma- related issues which has had an impact on their mental health and over 2 years experience working with adults with anxiety and depression. I am also a Theraplay informed Practitioner which I can implement into my child therapy sessions when appropriate.
You are the expert in your life and I, as your therapist, would provide a safe, consistent and welcoming environment for you to understand what the problems are and we would work together to improve your life.

I've been working with people with neurological and mental health issues since I left school. Working with people with complex pasts as been particularly meaningful to me which I have done as a support worker, a nurse, in addictions and homeless services now in therapy. I'm an open and curious person and I enjoy exploring someone else's world with them. I have a particular interest in complex trauma (CPTSD) and working with those described as living with personality disorders. I'm preparing to join the NARM (Neuroaffective relational Model) two year training because I value the validating way of formulating and treating CPTSD/PD.
Health Care Training:working relationships, health behaviour and mental health first aid. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Group work Diploma at The Centre of Therapy:this Diploma is an integrative course including a broad overview of many therapy approaches. CPD courses:Mindfulness in Working with PTSD, Working with Dissociation in Complex Trauma.
Alongside my professional training and experience I bring my personal experiences in things like advanced yoga teacher training, my own read and my own therapy. Woven through my practice is the influence of a systems view of the world, mindfulness, radical acceptance, somatic focussed and relational and attachment focussed therapy.
I'm working towards my accreditation with COSCA this year.
